Community Terms of Use

The MODL Community is operated by MODL, Inc. By participating, you agree to these terms and our website Terms of Service.

These terms take priority for community participation and replace the website terms’ provisions on user submissions for community content.

1. Participation

You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these terms. Keep your account secure and do not impersonate others.

2. Community rules

Follow our Community Guidelines. Do not post or send unlawful content, harassment, threats, spam or scams. Respect others’ privacy and intellectual-property rights, and do not interfere with the community’s security or operation.

These rules apply to public contributions and direct messages.

3. Intellectual property

The MODL Community, including the software, interfaces, text, and graphics, created or provided by MODL, Inc., trademarks, logos, data, databases, models, and documentation, are owned by or licensed to MODL, Inc. and are protected by intellectual property laws. No right to use MODL, Inc’s names, trademarks, service marks, logos, trade dress, or any of its intellectual property is granted except as necessary to use the MODL Community. There are no implied licenses by this Community Terms of Use.

The MODL Community is being provided to you at no cost. Your posts in the MODL Community are voluntarily disclosures to MODL, Inc. You agree that the information and things contained in your postings (content) to the MODL Community become the exclusive property of MODL, Inc., including all intellectual property rights in the information and things, such as trademarks, patents, copyrights, inventions and trade secrets. There is no obligation by MODL, Inc. to keep anything you post to the MODL Community confidential or proprietary. Any of the information and things posted to the MODL Community (including all intellectual property contained therein) may be used by MODL, Inc. for any purpose, including without limitation by incorporating the information and things into MODL, Inc’s products, without further compensation to you. Your posting of information and things to the MODL Community is also your agreement that all intellectual property rights in such information and things are assigned to MODL, Inc., including without limitation all patents, trademarks, copyrights, inventions, trade secrets. You agree that MODL, Inc., its successors and assigns, or anyone it may properly designate, may apply for patents in its own name if desired. You further agree to execute any documents that MODL, Inc. may deem necessary to memorialize or document your assignment and to pursue patent(s) regarding the assigned intellectual property discussed above.

4. Privacy

Public contributions may be viewed and copied by others. Direct messages are intended for their participants, but recipients may copy or share them.

MODL and its service providers may process community content and messages to operate the service, address safety issues and meet legal obligations. Direct messages are not covered by the public-display permission above.

5. Moderation and removal

We may remove content or restrict community access for violations, safety concerns or legal reasons.

Contact us to report a problem, question a moderation decision, or request content removal or account closure. Removal from display may not immediately erase backups, records retained for legitimate purposes, or copies held by others, subject to applicable law.

6. Using the community

Members are responsible for their contributions. MODL does not endorse every contribution or guarantee its accuracy, the community’s availability or permanent storage.

The website Terms of Service govern applicable warranty disclaimers and liability limitations. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

7. Updates

We may update these terms and will provide notice of material changes and request renewed acceptance where required by law.

Community Privacy Notice

This notice supplements MODL’s Privacy Policy for the community.

We use account and profile information, contributions, uploads, messages and activity records to operate and improve the community, address safety issues and meet legal obligations. Service providers may process this information on our behalf.

Profiles and public contributions may be visible to others. Direct messages are intended for their participants, but may be accessed as needed to operate the service, address reports or comply with law. Recipients may keep or share their own copies.

Removing content from display may not immediately erase backups or records retained for operational, safety or legal purposes, subject to applicable law.
